Dear Mayor Bieter,

My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and my favorite subjects to learn are history and public policy. In these subjects, I like to understand the need to make Civil Rights stronger to help protect people who are different from being discriminated, protect the environment, find ways to make public safety to make communities safe, and many others. Mayor Bleter, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is because I find your current work as Mayor of Boise, Idaho to be very inspiring to me.

In your current role as Mayor of Boise, Idaho I am very proud on how you are a strong supporter of Civil Rights to help protect women, minorities, and people with disabilities from being discriminated in education and public places.  Also on Civil Rights, I like on how you advocate for people with disabilities’ rights, fund women including minorities businesses to help them compete in the economy, express the need for women to have equal pay, and many others.  Pushing for job-training programs to help train youth including workers to develop job skills to help prepare them for the workforce, cutting red-tape including high fees on small businesses to help them be part of the community, and encouraging businesses including industries to improve working conditions are great ways to improve the economy.  On education, I like on how you fund special education to help students with disabilities get educational resources they need to help them learn, push for funds for the arts to help make education diverse, and expand on after school programs to help youth get help on their assignments.  Hiring police officers to help patrol the streets, pushing for treatment programs to help people with substance abuse get the care they need, teaming up with city services to help provide training for emergency services workers to help them be efficient when handling a crisis, and working with neighborhood to find ways to make children be safe from crime is common sense to improve public safety while reduce crime.  Providing funds to help clean up parks with water resources to make them safe for people to use, supporting funds for renewable energy resources (wind, solar, biofuel, and energy efficient products), and pushing for environmental education to help teach people about the need to protect the environment is great to help make the environment a better place. Also on the environment, I liked on how you along with city council worked on a ballot to provide money to protect open space with water quality in the Boise Foothills which includes Boise River basin where the voters approved it to protect it from being disturbed along with make quality of life a better place for people and wildlife. Another thing that I liked about your work as Mayor of Boise is providing funds to help preserve historical sites with museums and national parks to help make history a better place along with make learning a better tool, working with different businesses to find ways to improve tourism, welcoming refugees from different countries to help protect them from oppressive countries, and pushing for funds to build a public library to help create jobs along help the community get access to books or different educational resources to help them.

Mayor Bieter, I have Autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Your commitment to make Civil Rights stronger and support people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability.  Your work as current Mayor of Boise, Idaho motivates me to continue my interest in learning history with public policy.  My future goal is to someday work in public policy to help create good ideas to make society a better place.  Your story about working hard to make Boise a better place when it was struggling in a recession on youtube got me really interested in researching you with your work.  My letter is a gift to you for inspiring me and to wish you a Happy Birthday for November 1^st.

Mayor Bieter, I’m proud of you for working hard to make a great difference in your role as Mayor of Boise, Idaho.  I enjoyed watching on youtube on how you made great achievements on helping make society a better place when it was struggling during a recession.  You have inspired me to work hard on my disability, be motivated to learn history with public policy, and have interest in learning about your work as Mayor.  I was wondering if you could please share with me your favorite achievements as Mayor.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, making a great difference when times were hard, and inspiring me. I wish you well for the future and to continue to make a great impact to make society a better place.
